Vacation at Three Mile Lake, Muskoka, Ontario, Canada

all seasons in one day 25 °C

Many Torontonians head for "Cottage Country"on summer weekends and for vacations. It's about a two hour drive north of Toronto. A few years ago my son Doug and his wife Linda finally bought a place on Three Mile Lake. Now that their kids are grown and can go on their own it is one popular and busy cottage. So when invited I make the long trip from Vancouver. This year Linda's Mother Margaret was there as well as her brother Michael and his wife Sharon. Also grandson Geoff with his partner Brittany and scruffy dog Reggie. And granddaughter Carolyn is staying at the cottage for the summer while working in a nearby town. So for someone who lives alone this was exciting for me. The weather was fine for a few days then turned nasty with one major storm. But we took advantage of breaks and went out on the boat, swam, kayaked and played scrabble. Oh yes Sharon conducted a Yoga session which we probably needed. I loved every bit of it!

Then before coming home I had the pleasure of taking a day to visit my sisters-in-law Bev and Fran in St Catharines and Welland. My granddaughter Shannon chauffeured me and we had a very nice day together. Happily for me when we got back to Toronto my grandson Chris and his partner Miriam were at Doug's place so we had a nice visit.
