ENGLAND AND THE SOVIET UNION DECEMBER 1985

THE BARD AND THE BOLSHOI

Apart from trips to St Catharines and California we stayed close to home immediately after retirement to get used to so much togetherness( luckily we found out we liked it). Then I saw an ad from British Airways about their inaugural flights from London to Moscow. Included were an overnight train trip to Leningrad (as it was then) and tickets to the Bolshoi and the Kirov. We went to the theatre in London as well, had our eyes opened in the Soviet Union, found out we were good and avid travellers. So the rest of our lives began.
